The Opportunity

Provide leadership in the measurement and evaluation of risk, as well as recommendations for action, consistent with established actuarial methods and standards.  Lead a team of five direct reports.

 

Responsibilities

Perform traditional actuarial work consistent with skills demonstrated by at least five years of actuarial experience.

 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in analytical field
• ASA, FSA desired
• Experience with data analysis, querying, and reporting
• Experience with medical claim data and health insurance pricing and reporting
• Business background is a plus
• Capable of managing others
• Ability to think quickly and develop creative solutions to actuarial problems desired
• Thorough understanding of Medicare bids and pricing concepts desired
• Excellent project management skills desired
• Excellent communication skills desired
• Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment desired
• Strong customer focus desired
• Facility for learning complicated concepts with little formalized training desired
• Technical strength, particularly with VBA and database querying (SAS or SQL) desired
• Driven to continually improve processes desired
